What’s Included
Boston Z-Bar Hanging Rail, 150mm (6″), Double Profile (Self-Adhesive), 3.5kg (Pack of 1)
The Boston 150mm Self-Adhesive Z-Bar Rail is a heavy-duty, drill-free French cleat hanging system engineered for mounting panels, mirrors, and signage without mechanical fixings. Pre-fitted with high-tack 3M™ VHB™ adhesive tape, this extrusion offers a rapid peel-and-stick application for delicate, drill-sensitive substrates.
Key Features & Technical Specifications
- High-Strength 3M VHB Tape: Pre-applied dual-strip adhesive ensures immediate structural bond strength.
- 3.5kg Load Capacity: Shear strength tested with a 5× safety margin for commercial safety compliance.
- Low Profile Standoff: Minimal 6mm wall projection requiring only 12mm (1/2 in) overhead ceiling clearance for the 9.5mm interlock.
- Architectural Grade Aluminium: Extruded from 6063-T6 alloy for non-corrosive durability.
- Substrate Compatibility: Ideal for back-painted glass, Aluminium Composite Material (ACM), phenolic panels, acrylic, and sheet metal.

Installation & Application Guidelines
- Surface Preparation: Degrease substrate surfaces with a 50:50 IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) water mixture before attachment.
- Pressure Application: Apply firm pressure (minimum 15 psi) across the rail to activate pressure-sensitive 3M VHB bonding.
- Operating Environment: Rated for dry interior installations only. Unpainted glass requires specific primer backing.
Compatibility
The Boston Self-Adhesive Z-Bar Rail is compatible across the entire Boston series range. Designed with a precise, standardised interlock profile, both the Double Profile self-adhesive rails mate seamlessly with all Boston aluminium wall rails, standard z-bar extrusions, and hanging channels. This complete inter-compatibility gives architects, installers, and interior fitters total system flexibility—allowing you to easily swap, extend, or mix drill-free self-adhesive panel mounts with traditional mechanical fixings without sacrificing alignment or holding power.
