Instead of concentrating hundreds of pounds of pull-force on a single screw hole or fragile wire, the Z-Bar system distributes the entire weight evenly across a horizontal plane.

We recognise that no two mounting projects are identical, as a small heavy mirror requires a completely different setup than a continuous ten-foot headboard or wall display. That is why Metalciti rails are offered as individual singles rather than rigid, pre-packaged pairs. Because all rails within a specific profile series are extruded to identical, precision-matched geometries, different lengths of the same profile can be seamlessly combined and interchanged.

This design lets you easily mix and match lengths by mounting a shorter Z bar rail on the back of a frame or mirror and interlocking it with a longer Z bar rail secured to your wall.

If you need to bridge wall studs across a wide distance, you can simply butt two or more single rails end-to-end along a laser-level line to create a continuous hanging track without sacrificing structural integrity. Contractors, framers, and gallery technicians can also stock individual lengths and cut or combine them as required for specific jobs without paying for unnecessary excess hardware.

How It Works: Simple Installation

Installing a MetalCiti Z-Bar hanging system requires basic tools and straightforward steps, as the mechanical interlock does all the heavy lifting once your rails are positioned.

To fit the system, you first prepare the object rail by measuring the upper back area of the mirror, art frame, or wall panel. You then invert one Z Bar rail so that the mounting flange rests flat against the back of the object with the slanted lip facing down and away from the item. Secure this rail using appropriate wood screws or fasteners suited to your object’s material, ensuring it is level across the back.

Next, you mount the wall rail by locating your wall studs using a stud finder for maximum load capacity. Position the matching Z Bar rail on the wall with the slanted lip facing up and away from the wall surface, using a spirit level or laser level to ensure perfect horizontal alignment. Anchor this rail into the wall studs or heavy-duty masonry anchors using fasteners driven through the factory pre-punched mounting holes.

Finally, engage the interlocking cleat by lifting your object slightly above the wall rail and lowering it gently down against the wall until the downward-facing lip of the object rail slides smoothly inside the upward-facing lip of the wall rail. The angled profile automatically draws the object tight and flush against the wall surface. Once engaged, gravity holds the system permanently locked in place, and if you need to adjust or shift the object horizontally, you can simply slide it along the track without removing screws or rehanging hardware.
