The Phoenix 900 mm (36″) aluminium French cleat Z-Bar hanging rail is a heavy-duty mounting profile designed for securing medium to large picture frames, heavy mirrors, cabinets, and headboards. Extruded from high-quality aluminium alloy, this pre-drilled 900 mm rail features 9 factory-punched fixing holes for fast, hassle-free installation. Ideal for residential, commercial, and gallery applications, the Phoenix Z-Bar provides a rock-solid, invisible hold with zero visible wall fixings.
Key System Benefits
Heavy-Duty 80 kg Load Rating — High-grade extruded aluminium alloy profile supports up to 80 kg per rail when anchored securely into timber wall studs or solid masonry.
Factory Pre-Drilled (9 Holes) — Comes with 9 pre-punched fixing holes spaced evenly along the 900 mm length, eliminating the need to drill through tough aluminium on site.
Ultra-Slim Interlocking Profile — Low-profile Z-shaped design holds heavy items almost flush to the wall for a clean, floating aesthetic.
Modular & Mix-and-Match Compatible — Interlocks seamlessly across all rail lengths in the Metalciti Phoenix Series, allowing you to pair a 900 mm wall rail with shorter cleat segments on your frame or panel.

Modular Z-Bar Interlocking System Guide
The Phoenix Z-Bar system is engineered with a fully modular design. Because the interlocking cleat profile remains consistent across the entire Metalciti Phoenix range, a longer rail mounted horizontally to the wall can easily support shorter rail segments attached to your frame or panel—or vice versa. This lets you purchase exact individual quantities, adjust anchor placement around existing wall studs, and create custom configurations without paying for excess hardware.
Common Installation Configurations:
Standard Continuous Fit: One 900 mm rail on the wall paired with one 900 mm rail on the item.
Custom Offset Fit: One 900 mm rail on the wall paired with three 50 mm rails or two 300 mm rails on the item.
Split Anchor Fit: One 1200 mm rail or 600 mm rail on the wall paired with a 900 mm rail segment across the back of the item.
Installation & Structural Load Safety
- Offer the pre-drilled 900 mm rail up to your wall or frame level, marking your fixing positions through the 9 factory holes.
- Fasten one Z-Bar rail to the wall pointing upward and outward using suitable wall plugs or timber stud screws.
- Fasten the matching Z-Bar rail to the rear top edge of your frame or cabinet pointing downward and inward.
- Lower the item onto the wall rail until the cleats interlock firmly.
Load Capacity Safety Note: The stated 80 kg weight capacity refers to the structural strength of the aluminium Z-Bar rail itself. In heavy-duty applications, wall fixings or plasterboard construction will typically fail before the aluminium profile. Always ensure your wall structure and anchor fixings are rated to support the total load.
