You can use two rails of the same length to achieve a perfectly balanced and uniform hold for a standard item. Alternatively, you can combine two or more rails of different lengths to securely fit and balance unusual or custom-sized items. This flexible approach makes it easy to obtain a secure fit for all kinds of frames, mirrors, or panels, regardless of their unique dimensions. That is why we sell our rails as individual units, not pairs.
Mix and Match Modular Rail
The Anaheim Z-Bar system is engineered with a fully modular design, allowing you to pair different rail lengths to suit any hanging project. Because the interlocking cleat profile remains consistent across the entire range, a longer rail mounted to the wall can easily support a shorter rail attached to your frame—or vice versa. This flexibility lets you buy exact quantities, adjust anchor placement around existing wall studs, and create custom configurations without paying for excess hardware.
Configuration Examples:
(Note: These examples demonstrate how profiles can be combined; they do not represent what is included with this listing. You can mix and match lengths as needed, as long as all components use the same profile series (e.g., Anaheim).
Standard Continuous Fit: One 1800mm rail on the wall paired with one 1800mm rail on the item.
Split Anchor Fit: One 1200mm rail on the wall paired with two or three 300mm rail segments mounted across the back of the item.
Custom Offset Fit: One 900mm rail on the wall paired with three 50mm rails on the item.
Maximum Load Capacity
Please note that the stated weight capacity refers to the maximum structural load limit of the aluminium rail itself, not the wall substrate or its fixings (screws, wall plugs, or anchors). In heavy-duty applications, wall fixings or wall construction will typically fail before the aluminium profile. When installing heavy panels, mirrors, or cabinetry, ensure that the fixing method and wall structure are rated to support the total load.
